Christoph Pöggeler was born in Münster (Germany) in 1958.
He studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy from 1977 to 1985.
Inspired by the pillar saints of late antiquity, Christoph Pöggeler created the “Pillar Saints” project in 2000, which made him a name as a sculptor and painter.
Since 2001, Christoph Pöggeler presents the “pillar saints” – realistic life-size sculptures on advertising pillars – in the urban space of Düsseldorf.
