Joe Brockerhoff was born in Leipzig (Germany) in 1952 and died in 2023.

Brockerhoff studied art under Joseph Beuys at the Düsseldorf Art Academy and philosophy at the University of Düsseldorf.

In the 70s and 80s, he attracted international attention as a freehand sprayer and designed a Peace Bahn in Hiroshima in 1988, among other things.
